PC: Golden Axe: "Capitalizing on the beat 'em up genre, this arcade port's fantasy setting inspired later titles such as Warrior Blade (essentially Rastan 3) and Captain Commando. With a range of characters yanked from Conan the Barbarian and Lord of the Rings, Golden Axe introduced the ability to hitch rides to wreak havoc and destruction on enemies. The controls were smooth, the music driving, and the sound effects were barbaric -- all the way to the splatter fest end. "
