this mistake is deadly
Yinpong This mistake will stop you from speaking Finnish, and yet I see people making it over and over again... Their main study focus is on Finnish grammar. But it's not actually their fault. This happens because most resources teach Finnish by focusing on grammar rather than how people actually speak - due to traditional academic structures. Maybe you saw my last email and thought: "I should just dive in and start learning Finnish! Finnish, here I come!" Now here's the problem: Most Finnish learners try to do it the way they've always been told... focusing on standard Finnish, memorizing complex grammar rules, and trying to perfect every sentence. This creates failure because: 1. In Finland, we actually don't speak standard Finnish in daily life - we speak spoken Finnish (which is much simpler). 2. A grammar-focused approach feeds perfectionism which makes perfectionists (or recovering ones, like me!) freeze up in real conversations. Your study path should do the opposite. It should help you break free from overthinking and actually feel confident using your Finnish skills. So, instead, you've got to…
If your Finnish learning doesn't follow this approach, it won't work: At best, you'll recognize words but still struggle to form sentences in real life. At worst, you'll freeze up in conversations, lose motivation, and give up (again). Want to learn how to actually start speaking Finnish? Tomorrow, I'm launching a special Spring Sale for Conversational Finnish for Beginners 1🎉 It's a proven follow-along method to speaking Finnish with confidence - even if you've struggled before. It's the same course that helped Viktoria finally speak Finnish with her family after struggling in live classes - and it's where I can help you get there too Yinpong! Keep an eye on your inbox - I promise, you don't want to miss this! Talk soon, Varpu Her Finland | Laaksokatu, Lahti |
